I love summer. This time of year on the east coast is amazing. People tend to hibernate all winter and it is so nice to come out and see the sun again. Today my husband spent the entire day landscaping our beds and we are about to head out for some errands. You know I find that owning and keeping up a house makes for a lot less time shopping. I guess I don't get it. You have to stop shopping as much to save for a house and when you finally get one you don't shop as much. Okay well, maybe for the little things. The stuff we do buy is astronomically more expensive. We used to take trips to Target when we were renting or living in the condo. I would be convinced I needed stuff that I probably didn't really need. I would redecorate every season.
Tonight it is a light veggie pasta for dinner. Not sure what all I am going to throw in there but I know it will be healthy and tasty and full of summer love. Anyways just wanted to say hi to all of you enjoying the pretty days...I never regret taking advantage of these days in February.

Almost 100 days left
So it is hard to believe that I have 115 days left of pregnancy. Today I was trying to figure out when and how my brother would come back to see his first ever nephew. Granted I know my parents are just being nice but my mom reminded me of her stillbirth and told me that I should just get my brother a plane ticket (he is broke, which is a whole different post), once the baby is for sure coming. Her suggestion was to have him come home right after the birth.
So for obvious reasons my mom doesn't open up about her miscarriage. It was way before me and with a previous husband, but as we get closer she does open up. I guess her stillbirth was at full term. She told me today what happened during the entire process. My dad softened it by reassuring me that I probably have better care than she had at the time. Needless to say it is scary.
Thoughts? Will the fear ever go away or is it something you always have to have in the back of your mind as a parent to be/parent?

Steaming Chicken
I hope my readers out there remember that Sunday is my favorite day. I also love to cook, and to me there is nothing better than cooking with the windows open on a Sunday at home! Husband is working in the yard and I am cooking away. I even made him lemonade and brought it out to him while he was working. Very cute!
I love spring cooking. I say this every year. According to my husband I say that I love winter cooking at the start of winter as well. I think it is something about the changing of the seasons that invigorates my senses.
Today I am steaming so chicken to put into chicken salad. I have never steamed chicken before. I have also never made chicken salad from scratch either. I am making it to pack in my lunch. Anyone who has been pregnant knows the joys of retaining water. I figured out really early with a can of tomato soup that I could go up 3 or 4 pounds in a day. This feels just like it sounds...not good. Why can't my tongue retain some water? So with all the sodium in canned chicken, I figured it is just better to start from scratch and make my own. I am sure it is much better too!
For dinner, I am making salmon wrapped in phyllo (sp?) dough with spices and asparagus in the middle of the wrap. Tasty stuff. And lots of healthiness as well.
Happy Sunday!

Happy April 18h
I have not been on blogger since February. Sad, but true. Did I enjoy my time off? Well, yes, but now I am back and hopefully here to stay. What has been going on? I am loving, or rather in love with the Twilight Series. I am on book 3 and almost finished. I am going to watch the movie after I finish all the books. My poor husband is getting jealous of the books.
I have been on vacation. I couldn't take the cold weather out east, so we went down to sunny Florida for a week.
I have been getting bigger and bigger by the day, and the baby in me moves like crazy. Oh yes, and I found out we are having a BOY! Paint the town BLUE. There is a boy coming to our house.
There are still many adventures to be had, such as painting the room, of course birthing the baby, and trying to stay in my weight range with this one. You unfortunately can't gorge on ice cream through pregnancy either...sorry girls!
Anyways, I hope to catch up stop by all the blogs I love and follow so much and re-join my blogger community.
